“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.” (James 5:14-15)
Three times Jesus sent out his disciples to minister: the mission of the twelve (Matt 10 & Luke 9), the mission of the seventy two (Luke 10), and the commissioning of the twelve before His Ascension (Matt 25, Mark 16, Luke 24, and Acts 1). On all three occasions, He told them to do the same things: preach the Gospel, heal the sick, cast out demons, and raise the dead. He said in Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs will accompany those who believe: in My name, they will drive out demons; … they will lay hands on the sick and the sick shall be healed.” Scripture reports that the apostles and disciples did indeed preach, heal, etc., as directed, and the Holy Spirit has continued to guide and empower those who believe as they continued that mission through the centuries, down to the present day. Experience proves that God wants to heal His children physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally, as well as in their relationships, careers, and finances, and He does so here for those who come with open hearts.
We do not, however, believe that this means that doctors are of no use. Numerous medical researchers have done scientific experiments which prove that prayer in conjunction with professional medical treatment is more effective than either by itself. By all means, come for prayer, but don't stop seeing your doctor! And continue to follow his instructions.
Our ministry is offered without charge so that no one is precluded from attending because they can’t afford the fees. Donations are our only source of funding; we count on those who are able to give to be led by the Holy Spirit to support the ministry. Since we have no expense for a fundraising organization, 100% of your donation goes to support our operation and ministry.
Rest assured that only your assigned prayer minister(s) will ever see the ministry application you submit to us; we handle it with the strictest confidentiality, storing it in a secure file cabinet to which only authorized prayer ministers have access. However, there are two things we are required by law to report to the appropriate authorities:
This ministry is provided to all Christians regardless of denomination as long as they honor Jesus Christ. While this is a ministry of Branches of the Cross Anglican church, our healing ministry itself is focused only on the healing mission of Jesus Christ our Lord among us. There is no teaching or preaching that comes from a particular denominational perspective and our prayer ministers worship in churches of various denominations. All Christians should be comfortable receiving this ministry.
It is our prayer that you’ll find this ministry to be a caring and safe environment in which you can experience the love and healing touch of God. We trust your time with us will be a significant blessing for you.
Intercessory prayer is a major focus of our ministry. We encourage you to send your prayer needs to us. Prayer requests are prayed over for a week or two (depending on the nature of the request) by a small group of trained intercessory prayer ministers. They are held in confidence and will not be seen by anyone other than our intercessors. Click here to Submit a Prayer Request.
Unlike our Intercessory Prayer Ministry, our prayer ministers pray and interact with you on the telephone or over the Internet during Personal Prayer Appointments. As soon as safety and county health regulations permit, we will also offer in-person appointments onsite at the Branches of the Cross campus. Anything that is said is held in confidence; our prayer ministers will not reveal or discuss it with anyone else. With your permission, praise reports and testimonies, however, may be preserved and anonymously posted from time to time on our website.

Some of the problems and wounds people experience are too deep, or too pervasive, or too well hidden, or too numerous, to be dealt with through intercessory prayer, or even by a personal prayer appointment. Sometimes there are circumstances, habits, false beliefs, judgmental attitudes, unwise commitments, or other things that prevent people from receiving the healing they need. Sometimes people are unaware of, or have forgotten or repressed, the root causes of their problems, and it takes time to bring them to mind. The Christian Healing center offers a 3-Day Intensive Prayer Ministry Retreat to meet these needs. Click here to learn more and to download an application to attend a 3-Day Retreat.
To serve people who work and find it difficult to take three days off to attend a 3-Day Retreat, and to provide follow-up for people who have attended a 3-Day Retreat, we are now offering 1-Day Healing Retreats. It is a condensed version of the three day. The talks are less comprehensive, there are three prayer sessions rather than five, and there is no closing Eucharistic service.
Some Saturdays will duplicate a day of the 3-Day, while others will feature a different theme such as going deeper in your relationship with Christ.
The Christian Healing Center periodically presents training programs to prepare people to serve in the healing ministry, either with us or at their own churches. We have used The School of Healing Prayer from Christian Healing Ministries, the Order of St. Luke’s training program, and the one-day program developed by our church founder Fr. Timothy Laundrie. We have also co-sponsored weekend conferences with other area churches, bringing in well-known speakers from around the United States and other countries.
