We would appreciate your prayers for our congregation, our ongoing ministries, our financial stability, and our new rector.
FOR THE UNITY OF THE CHURCH
Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles, “Peace I give to you; my own peace I leave with you”: Regard not our sins, but the faith of your Church, and give to us the peace and unity of that heavenly city, where with the Father and the Holy Spirit you live and reign, now and for ever. Amen.
FOR VESTRY AND CHURCH MEETINGS
Almighty and everliving God, source of all wisdom and understanding, be present with those who take counsel for the renewal and mission of your Church. Teach us in all things to seek first your honor and glory. Guide us to perceive what is right, and grant us both the courage to pursue it and the grace to accomplish it; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
FOR THE LOCAL CONGREGATION
O God the Holy Spirit, Sanctifier of the faithful: Sanctify this Congregation by your abiding presence. Bless those who minister in holy things. Enlighten the minds of your people more and more with the light of the everlasting Gospel. Bring erring souls to the knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ; and those who are walking in the way of life, keep steadfast to the end. Give patience to the sick and afflicted, and renew them in body and soul. Guard those who are strong and prosperous from forgetting you. Increase in us your many gifts of grace, and make us all fruitful in good works. This we ask, O blessed Spirit, whom with the Father and the Son we worship and glorify, one God, world without end. Amen.
FOR THE LOCAL CONGREGATION
Almighty and everlasting God, you govern all things in heaven and on earth: Mercifully hear our prayers, and grant that in this Congregation the pure Word of God may be preached and the Sacraments duly administered. Strengthen and confirm the faithful; protect and guide the children; visit and relieve the sick; turn and soften the wicked; arouse the careless; recover the fallen; restore the penitent; remove all hindrances to the advancement of your truth; and bring us all to be of one heart and mind within your holy Church, to the honor and glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
FOR THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH
O God, our heavenly Father, you manifested your love by sending your only-begotten Son into the world, that all might live through him: Pour out your Spirit on your Church, that we may fulfill his command to preach the Gospel to all people. Send forth laborers into your harvest; defend them in all dangers and temptations; and hasten the time when the fullness of the Gentiles shall be gathered in, and faithful Israel shall be saved; through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
FOR A SPIRIT OF EVANGELISM
Almighty God our Savior, you desire that none should perish, and you have taught us through your Son that there is great joy in heaven over every sinner who repents. Grant that our hearts may ache for a lost and broken world. May your Holy Spirit work through our words, deeds, and prayers, that the lost may be found and the dead made alive, and that all your redeemed may rejoice around your throne; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
And while you're at it, please pray for the success of upcoming projects at Branches, and for sufficient donations to make them possible. We have a number of much-needed maintenance, remodeling, and landscaping projects, such as controlling rain run-off, Stations of the Cross, and painting. We have already completed two big projects: finishing the downstairs in Disciple House and widening the walkway to the Chapel.
During each of our 3-Day Intensive Prayer Ministry retreats, we have an army of intercessors praying in support of those attending the retreat and of our ministry team that serves them. We invite you to join us in intercessory prayer as you are available during each 3-Day.
Don't be concerned with the amount of time you spend on your knees. Have you heard the term "flare prayer?" It refers to a sailor at sea, or a military unit in distress, that fires a flare gun up into the sky asking for help. It's wonderful if you can block out a period of time to pray, but if all you can do is send up a few flare prayers, we'll take it!
We'd be delighted if you could come onsite at least one day, or part of a day, as an intercessor during the 3-Day. We gather for breakfast about 8:15 and usually wrap up the day between 3:30 and 4:00. Lunch is also provided each day. It would be a special blessing if you could attend Wednesday's closing generational healing service at 2:30; at the end, those who came for prayer share what the 3-Day experience has meant to them.
There are no fixed times that you have to be onsite. You can come and go at your convenience. Intercessors sometimes stay all day, and sometimes come only for the morning or afternoon.
For those who can’t come onsite, your long-distance intercession is just as effective, and just as much appreciated, as if you were at the Center.
To join us, or to ask any questions, contact us at CHC.BranchesVista@gmail.com. We'd be blessed to have you on the team praying for us.
During this period of sequestration, we have not been able to offer our 3-Day Intensive Prayer Ministry. Please join us in praying that we may be able to resume our ministry soon, and that God would in the interim sustain those who would like to have come during this period.
In order to meet an ever-increasing stream of 3-Day requests, and in order to implement new programs we have on the drawing board, we need to expand our team of prayer ministers. We'd love to have you join us, even if you can only serve once or twice a year. Please pray about it and let us know if it's a possibility. And if you know someone else who might consider joining us, please urge them to contact us. Christians of any denomination are welcome.
Our 3-Day begins on the second Monday of every month and is three consecutive days. The people who come for prayer watch a few inspirational and instructional videos, listen to a couple of talks, and receive about six hours of prayer. We have seen the most remarkable transformations in people – release from crippling grief, guilt, hopelessness, anger, and bitterness, and recovery from deep emotional wounds from rape, abortion, childhood abuse, etc., etc. It is absolutely astonishing to hear the things that some people have lived through, and such a blessing to participate in their healing.
A team of two or three trained prayer ministers is assigned to pray with and accompany each attendee through the 3-Day. At least one of these prayer ministers has served with us for one or more years; the first few times a prayer minister serves with us, they are teamed with an experienced prayer minister. In preparation, we ask that prayer ministers attend a 3-Day themselves and complete at least Levels I & II of the MacNutt School of Healing Prayer; the training offered by the Order of St. Luke is also recommended.
To join us, or to ask any questions, contact us at CHC.BranchesVista@gmail.com. We'd be blessed to have you on the team.
Instructing his apostles before the day of Pentecost, Jesus said, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.“ (Acts 1: 8). On the day of Pentecost, it was the witness of the apostles that led 3000 people to join the church (Acts 2:41).
The same is true today. Many members of our congregation came at the invitation of a friend, and the vast majority of the people who have come to the Christian Healing Center for prayer came at the suggestion of a friend. Pass the word and be a blessing to someone today.
In the fine old American tradition of barn-raising, we hold workdays several times a year as a special kind of fellowship. We take care of things that need to be done around the property, such as landscaping, painting, decorating for a holiday, etc. Watch the calendar and come join us at our next day of fellowship working together!
Branches of the Cross Church and the Christian Healing Center operate only by the generous donations of people like you. The ministry of the Christian Healing Center, and the associated meals and lodging, are offered without charge so that no one is denied ministry because they can’t afford the fees. Similarly, individuals and organizations that use our facilities for retreats, meetings, etc., are never charged a fee. We follow Jesus’ admonition to His apostles in Matthew 10:8, “Freely you have received; freely give.”
We invite you to partner with us in making this ministry widely available. Since we have no expense for a fundraising organization, 100% of your donation goes to support our operation and ministry.
